Surah Al-Qamar

Surat Al-Qamar (Arabic: سورة القمر) (The Moon) is the 54th sura of the Quran with 55 ayat. Some verses refer to the Splitting of the moon. "Qamar" (القمر), meaning "'Moon" in Arabic, is also a common name among Muslims.

This sura surah makkiyah classified, consisting of 55 verses. Named Al-Qamar, which means the Moon comes from the word Al-Qamar contained in the first paragraph of this letter. In this verse be explained about the splitting of the moon as a miracle of Prophet Muhammad.
